ROARK — The Roark school community is mourning the loss of Amanda Johnson Smith, affectionately known as Mandy, a beloved teacher, mentor, and friend whose sudden passing has left students, colleagues, and families in shock.
Smith was widely recognized for her dedication to her students and the school community. She served in multiple roles at Roark, often going above and beyond her responsibilities to support both staff and students. Her colleagues described her as a tireless educator, compassionate mentor, and someone whose positivity and commitment made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
“MandY led with heart,” one staff member said. “She was always there wherever she was needed, guiding our students and lifting the spirits of those around her.”
