It is with profound sadness that the Aransas Pass Independent School District announces the passing of Mr. Delfino Flores, a cherished Board Member, proud alumnus, and lifelong supporter of Panther Nation. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, colleagues, and the entire Aransas Pass community.
Mr. Flores began his service on the Aransas Pass ISD Board of Trustees in June 2020, dedicating the last five years of his life to ensuring that every student within the district had the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. His leadership was marked by compassion, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives.
A graduate of Aransas Pass High School, Class of 1979, Mr. Flores embodied the true spirit of a Panther. His roots in the community ran deep, and his pride in his hometown was evident in everything he did. Whether in the boardroom or on the sidelines, Mr. Flores served as both an advocate and a role model for the students, staff, and families of Aransas Pass ISD.
Those who knew Mr. Flores best remember him as a man of great heart and humility — someone who always put others first. He had a special passion for Panther Athletics, where his enthusiasm and loyalty shone brightly. Rarely was there a game or event where Mr. Flores wasn’t in attendance, cheering loudly and proudly for his children, grandchildren, and all Panther student-athletes. His presence in the stands was more than that of a spectator — it was a symbol of his deep love for his family, his community, and the Panther legacy.
Beyond his public service, Mr. Flores was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity of spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a man of faith and integrity, whose quiet strength and dedication left a lasting mark on the lives of many.
The loss of Mr. Flores is deeply felt throughout the Aransas Pass community, where his contributions will continue to be remembered and celebrated. His commitment to the students and staff of Aransas Pass ISD will live on through the programs, initiatives, and relationships he helped build.
As we honor his memory, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren, and all who loved him. We ask that you keep the Flores family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Mr. Delfino Flores’ legacy of service, pride, and Panther spirit will forever remain a part of Aransas Pass ISD. His life reminds us all of the impact one person can have when they lead with heart, dedication, and love for their community.
